Most of the region has an equatorial climate. It is characterized by warm weather, with average annual temperatures ranging between 24º and 26ºC.

At the mouth of the Amazon River, on the coast of Pará and in the western sector of the region, the total annual rainfall usually exceeds 3,000 mm.

From Roraima to eastern Pará rainfall occurs less frequently, being around 1,500 to 1,700 mm per year.

The region's rainy season occurs in the summer / autumn months, except for Roraima and part of the Amazon, where rainfall occurs most in winter.
